Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Network for Preventive Environmental Management (NetPEM) Public Trust along with International Council of Swedish Industry (NIR) are delighted to announce a workshop titled “Implications of EU’s REACH Directive on the Indian Textile and Dyes Industry” in Coimbatore, on 5th July 2006
Why This Workshop?
The workshop seeks to impact the Textile exporters to the European Union as well as their suppliers where the awareness about EU’s REACH directive is very low.
The deliberations in the workshop would help in getting a consolidated feedback to the consultative documents and will also help in developing models for responsibility and procedures to assure compliance across the supply chain. Such consolidation will also give strength and legitimacy to the concerns raised and feedback made to the EU. The deliverables at the workshop would include an overview of the REACH directive and the related aspects of Supply Chain Environmental Management.
What is the workshop aiming for?
The overall aim of the workshop is to maintain and enhance the EU-India trade by facilitating the bridging of gaps in technology and know-how required to comply with the requirements of the New EU Directives such as Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (REACH).
- To access the implication of the EU Directive (REACH) on Indian Textile suppliers.
- To ascertain the level of preparedness of Indian suppliers
- Development of capacity building events
- Designing of self help tools for non-EU suppl
Who is the target?
We invite all Textile Manufacturers and Exporters and Dye manufacturers. The workshop is also interesting for other stakeholders such as Textile related research institutions, Govt. bodies, and trade promotion councils, NGOs etc
